Police Seek Suspects In Repeat Gas Station Robberies

The couple are believed to be involved in other recent robberies in Oak Lawn, Skokie and Munster, IN, according to a police bulletin.

OAK LAWN, IL -- A man and woman believed to be involved in other area robberies knocked off an Oak Lawn gas station early Monday morning. According to police information obtained by Patch, the purported robbers entered the Shell Gas Station at 106th Street and Cicero Avenue around 1:43 a.m. The two demanded cash and cigarettes.

The man was reportedly armed with a black semi-automatic handgun. The woman was carrying a red or maroon bag, police said. Both were wearing all black clothing, hats, gloves and bandanas covering their faces, the police bulletin said.

Suspect #1 is described as a thin white, possibly Hispanic male wearing wearing a black sweatshirt, jeans and black shoes. Suspect #2 is a heavy set female black. Both suspects appear to match the description of offenders of prior robberies in Oak Lawn, Skokie and Munster, IN.

A couple of a similar description robbed Thornton’s gas station at 91st Street and Cicero Avenue on Aug. 6.
