Republic Modifies Oak Lawn Waste Collection In Coronavirus Crisis
Starting March 30, Oak Lawn's waste collector will suspend yard and bulk waste collection.

OAK LAWN, IL — Oak Lawn’s waste collector is temporarily modifying its services during the coronavirus emergency. Republic Services anticipates a higher volume of waste as residents spend more time at home working and social distancing.
“We provide an essential service to the country, and like the police and fire departments, and it’s our duty to help protect and serve the public, especially in times like these,” the company said in a written statement.
Starting Monday, March 30, yard waste and bulk waste will be suspended. Drivers are no longer authorized to get out of their vehicles to pick up waste and bulk items left outside residents’ carts. Residents are asked to keep waste out of their recycling containers. The changes will not affect residents' regular waste pickup day.
