The event was hosted by the Oak Lawn Park District and the Oak Lawn Green Team. Kids got their hands dirty planting seeds and making recyclable flower pots with park district and the Black Oak Girl Scouts.

Senior Girl Scout Bernadette Pavlik planted a tree in honor of the Girl Scouts'  100th anniversary as part of her Gold Award.

There were pop quizzes on recyling by members of the Oak Lawn Green Team, nature walks through the nautre preserve, and plenty of fresh air on a blustery, cold afternoon.

The highlight of the event was Jim Nesci's cold blooded creature show starring tortoises and snakes.

Many thanks to students Clare and Frances O'Malley, and Megan McQuinn. Not only did they do an awesome job painting faces, they made the Oak Lawn Patch editor look organized.
