Richards, Eisenhower, Richards at Youth Activation Summit

Students from Eisenhower, Richards and Shepard high schools participated in the virtual Youth Activation Summit sponsored by Special Olympics Illinois.

Hosted at the Administrative Center, the event featured the theme "What's Your Why?"

"Special Olympic athletes attended with their unified partners and engaged in activities that focused on team building, equity and inclusion for all. They shared stories about what motivates them to help promote inclusive cultures in their schools and communities," said Shepard teacher Ashley Lythberg, who took these great pictures.

Everyone participated in virtual sessions led by students from schools across Illinois (including a group from Richards) and brought back ideas for how to continue to grow inclusive opportunities in their buildings.
