BURBANK, IL — A man was able to escape his home and call police after a pair of home invaders busted into his residence demanding drugs and money in a broad daylight home invasion on Monday, Burbank police said. One of the suspects was said to be brandishing a handgun. Police believe the incident to be isolated.

Around 12:50 p.m. April 21, police said two Hispanic men broke through the back door of a house shared by two roommates in the 8000 block of Lawler Avenue. The roommates told police they heard a loud banging coming from the back of the house. When they went to investigate the noise, the men were inside their house, police said.

Police said one of the men brandished a handgun and started demanding money and drugs. One of the roommates was able to run out of the house and call 911. The roommates were not injured. Police said the back door showed obvious signs of forced entry.
