Women Charged In Hometown Heroin Deal
Two women charged for buying heroin in the street.

HOMETOWN, IL -- Two women were arrested in Hometown following a street drug transaction, prosecutors said. Francesca Moore, 30, of Chicago, appeared before Cook County Judge Peter Felice on charges of possession of a controlled substance and delivery. Hometown-resident Tiffany Moore, 37, was charged with possession of a controlled substance.
Hometown police observed Byrne walking in the 8600 block of South Kenton Avenue with another man they knew to be on parole on Jan. 22. Officers asked to do a search. The prosecutor said officers found a gram of heroin in Byrne's pocket. Byrne allegedly admitted they were meeting Moore to buy more heroin.
The prosecutor said Moore consented to a search. She was taken to the Hometown Police Station because of bad weather. Officers reportedly found heroin hidden in Moore’s crotch.

Moore was also arrested Jan. 6 in Hometown for delivery of crack cocaine to Byrne’s male friend, the prosecutor said. She was free on bail at the time of her second arrest, according to court records.
The women’s attorney told the judge that Hometown officers had been trying to help Byrne get a prescription for Suboxone, a drug used to treat opioid addiction. She was released on an $25,000 I-bond and ordered to submit to random drug testing.
