Worth Man Shot To Death At Aloha Motel: Cops

Chicago police said two teenage suspects are still at large after they shot a Worth man during an argument at a South Side motel.

CHICAGO, IL — A Worth man was shot to death at a motel in Chicago's Scottsdale neighborhood by two teens late Monday morning, police said. Jonathan Szurgot, 36, died of a gunshot wound to the chest.

Szurgot was arguing with two teens at the Aloha Motel at 85th Street and Cicero Avenue, Chicago police said, when one of the teens pulled out a gun and shot the Worth man in the chest. Szurgot was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn where he was pronounced dead.

The teens ran away northbound on Cicero Avenue, according to police. They have not been arrested. Szurgot was not known to police, and Area Central detectives are investigating.

Szurgot was one of 43 people shot over the Memorial Day weekend, seven fatally.
