Second Arrest Made In La Cocina De Mama Restaurant Burglary Targeting Gaming Machines
A 24-year-old Chicago man is believed to be part of a crew that targeted video gaming machines in Oak Lawn and Worth, OLPD said.

OAK LAWN, IL—Another arrest has been made in the La Cocina De Mama Restaurant burglary that was targeted in a video gaming machine burglary in January.
Christopher Carr, 24, of Chicago, is facing felony charges of burglary, theft over $500 less than $10k (Class 3 Felony), and criminal damage to property $10,000 to $100,000.
Around 5:30 a.m. Jan. 8, Oak Lawn police officers were dispatched to a burglar alarm at La Cocina De Mama Restaurant, 5721 W. 95th St., where officers discovered a burglary in progress. Police said a group of eight to ten people fled the scene in numerous vehicles. A chase ensued, but the purported crew made good on their escape.

Back at La Cocina de Mama, police determined that the video gaming terminals were targeted. Cash was taken, and several video gaming machines were damaged.
Oak Lawn detectives have been working with neighboring police departments where video gaming machines at bars, restaurants and gaming cafes have also been targeted, who identified Carr as a possible suspect in the La Cocina de Maria burglary.

Police presented evidence on May 22 to the Cook County State’s Attorney’s felony review, which approved the felony charges. Carr is also charged with burglary of JD’s Cafe, 6606 W. 111th St. in Worth, which also happened on Jan. 8.
Carr is currently being detained at Cook County Jail, where jail records show him being booked there on April 29.
He’s due back in court June 23 at the Bridgeview Courthouse.
