Yesterday the fund honoring Richards High School freshman Amira Nairat suddenly leaped from $4,300 to the $5,000 necessary to construct a second water well in Mali.
That's because her father, Mahmoud, paid the balance out of his own pocket.
So now, because of him and everyone else who supported this project, Pious Projects will build a second water well to honor Amira, who tragically was struck by a car and died on February 4 as she walked to Richards.
