Senior Captain David Morales Lynchpin of Oak Lawn Spartan Boys Soccer

OAK LAWN, IL — For Oak Lawn Community High School senior captain David Morales, leadership is very important on and off the soccer field. So, it’s quite natural that while he leads the team in minutes played, he also leads the Spartans on defense with great ball skills and in the huddles with vocal encouragement. He has recorded two assists on the year from the center back position but contributes in so many other ways.

“David has not only been the lynchpin of the Spartan defense but also a natural organizer for the entire squad,” OLCHS head coach Nate Joiner said. “His leadership is both by example and of a vocal nature. David’s tough tackling, coupled with his tight marking ability, have been key in every game in 2023. His skills on the ball are not to be doubted, either.

“He provides accurate service for his attackers; this makes him the owner of many set pieces. David leads the team in minutes played, proving how vital he is to his team.”
