Shepard choir plays Orchestra Hall

Among the many awards his students have won the past few years, perhaps the invitation to perform at Orchestra Hall ranks highest for Shepard High School choral director Roland Hatcher.

The honor didn’t come by chance: His students auditioned for the opportunity to perform before and at intermission of the Merry, Merry Chicago! concert of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra.

Shepard students sang in the magnificent Grainger Ballroom at Orchestra Hall on Tuesday night.
