The U.S. Air Force JROTC program from Shepard High School once again gathered today to remember the victims of the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001.
Prior to the start, U.S. Air Force Major (ret.) Dan Johnson asked his students to remember that the victims and first responders started that day much like they were: Waking up, getting ready for school or work, and going about their daily lives.
For more than two decades the JROTC program has organized an annual memorial dedicated to the victims. As students walk 14 miles, or 56 laps, around the school track classmates read the names of all those who perished that day.
