Shepard welcomes German exchange students
Goethe faculty members, students here for three weeks!
After their flight was.cancelled Sunday, Shepard High School welcomed friends from Johann Wolfgang Goethe Gymnasium.
Shepard teacher Jennifer Fischer and her German language students from Shepard will host faculty members and more than 20 students for three weeks. They will attend classes at Shepard, tour Chicago and the region, and in general live as Americans.
For the first time the students from Goethe, who have been visiting Shepard for more than 30 years, will attend prom. Germany features no tradition like it, so prom will offer a completely novel experience.
