Southland Model Railroad Show at Richards this weekend
Largest show of its kind in Chicago: Saturday from 10 to 5, Sunday from 10 to 3
Richards High School will host its 13th annual Southland Model Railroad Show on Saturday and Sunday, October 10 and 11.
Richards, located at 10601 S. Central Avenue in Oak Lawn, will host the event from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday.
Admission is $6 for Adults, $5 for Seniors and Children under 12 are free. Proceeds support the HLR Performing Arts Department. Parking is free.

The train show will feature the largest HO layout of any model show in the Chicago area. The Richards event also includes many other model train displays and operating layouts, Lego trains, a riding train for children, train races for children, and a children’s activities area.
This is a family fun event for all ages. The event will feature numerous model train displays and operating layouts, huge Lego displays, a kids’ activities area, vendors, and concessions and much, much more!

This year the event will feature demonstrations on how to set up a own model train.
The list of clubs that will attend and display include Lionel Modular Train Club, Swallow Cliff Model Train Club, Blackhawk Chapter NRHS, Northwest Society of Engineers, Kane Co. Model RR Club, Baden Powell RR Club, CASG, Will County Model Rail Road Club, British Train Society, LGB Model Train Club, John Massura, Midwest N Pioneer Model Rail Road, Jeff Viens (CHILUG), L and B, Kankakee Model Rail Club, Heritage N Track, Northern ILL Lego Train Club, TCA Midwest Division Modular Group, Charles G. LaBuda.
