Squabble Over Money Ends In Shots Fired Outside Walmart: Police

Bridgeview police said window of car was shattered by bullet after two men got into a dispute over money in the Walmart parking lot.

BRIDGEVIEW, IL — A squabble over money ended in a shot being fired in a Walmart parking lot Friday afternoon, police said. The incident is under investigation.

Around 1:30 p.m., Bridgeview police responded to a call of shots being fired in the Walmart parking lot at 102nd Street and Harlem Avenue. Police said two men were in a verbal dispute over money. The man who was reportedly targeted in the shooting punched the other man and ran away.

As the man ran away, he heard a gunshot. Officers verified that the shots fired call was bonafide. A shell casing was found on the driver’s side window of the man's car. Police said the window was also shattered. The man was said he believed he was being shot at intentionally.
