Toys R Us Employee Charged With ID Theft

Employee used someone else's credit card to buy $217 worth of toys, prosecutor says.

An employee is accused of using someone else’s credit card to purchase toys from a her employer.

Alexis Murray, 20, was employed at Toys “R” Us, 8148 S. Cicero Ave., Burbank, is charged with identity theft, after she allegedly bought $217 worth of toys on Nov. 29, prosecutors said.

Prosecutors said the owner of the card contacted the store when she received a fraud alert on her Visa credit card. Store security video showed Murray purchasing toys.

The original sales receipt was found in Murray’s purse, police said.

Bail was set at $2,500. Murray is due back in court on Jan. 8.
