Victim In Funeral Home Shooting Flees Christ Hospital

OAK LAWN, IL - Police in Bridgeview are now looking for both the suspect and victim from a shooting incident that occurred inside the Hann Funeral Home Wednesday night as the victim fled from Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn after he was treated later that night.

A spokesman for the village of Bridgeview said a fight started during a funeral around 8 p.m., when one of the attendees fired one shot that struck the victim, a 20-year-old Hispanic man. While the cause of the fight is not known, the spokesman said it involved members of a Chicago regional street gang.

Many of the witnesses to the crime are associated with the gang and are reluctant to speak with police, according to officials.
