U.S. Navy JROTC performs "Olde Glory"

Recently, Richards High School JROTC instructor CDR (ret.) Doug Groters asked for some volunteers from his students help in honoring a neighbor who had served in World War II in the U.S. Army Third Division under General George S. Patton.

Now 94 years old, Peter Gilea earned two Purple Hearts and a Bronze Start with a ‘V’ for valor.

Groters wanted to present a performance of “Olde Glory.” Community service comprises a huge component of JROTC at Richards, so he was not surprised when many students volunteered.

Here, you can watch (from left) Richards students Fatima Murillo, Samantha Caldera, Delilah Caldera, Sharia Judeh, Ramon Ajasa, Symone Johnson, Sophia Gomez, Steven Lumpkins, and Allison Lively perform “Olde Glory” as Mr. Groters reads the script.
