Volunteers Needed to Support the Oak Lawn Police Department

Trustee Tim Desmond is looking for people to help tie blue ribbons along 95th Street.

Oak Lawn residents will be tying blue ribbons at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 2, along 95th Street in support of the Oak Lawn Police Department.

More volunteers are needed to join the “Tie One On” project, organized by Trustee Tim Desmond (Dist. 1).

A post on Desmond’s Facebook page states volunteering shouldn’t take longer than an hour.

“Tie One On” aims to “support of the men and women of the Oak Lawn Police Department and all who wear a badge to protect us,” the post states. “You can be sure your efforts will make a big difference.”

Volunteers will meet 11 a.m. Friday at the Oak Lawn Pavilion, 9401 S. Oak Park Ave., Oak Lawn.
