Winners announced at the opening reception of "Gallery 2022"

"Gallery 2022" - the annual Moraine Valley Juried Community Art Show exhibit at the Robert F. DeCaprio Art Gallery

After a 2 year halt due to the pandemic, the Robert F. DeCaprio Art Gallery annual community art show - Gallery 2022 has returned. Artists could enter works in any fine art media, including oil, acrylic, watercolor, photography, printmaking, ceramics, metal, sculputure and mixed media.

Julian Tillery, Manager of Theater Operations and Services Fine Arts & Performing Arts Center at Moraine Valley Community College stated that this year there were 69 entrants. Out of those, 54 were selected for the Community Art Show Exhibit. This years exhibit runs from June 8th through July 18th, 2022.

Six awards were announced at the opening reception on Saturday, June 11, 2022. Gallery 2022 Juried Community Art Exhibition winners include:

  • 1st Place: T.C. English-Dumont - "Harvest"- Oil Painting
  • 2nd Place: Kristine Christensen - "Dragon Scales: Interactive Mischief Makers" - Metal
  • 3rd Place: Andrea Fox - "Sooo Good" - Transparent Watercolor

Honorable Mentions include:

Robert F. DeCaprio Art Gallery is a meeting ground for students of Moraine Valley Community Collge, the local community, and the contemporary art world. Their mission is to present significant works through exhibitions and programming by local, national and international artists.

All Exhibits are free and open to the public Monday through Thursday from 9am to 4:30pm.

The Gallery 2022 Exhibit runs from June 8th through July 18th, 2022.
