Shannon O. of Chicago says, “This is my favorite Irish pub on Western Ave....and in Chicago in general. This is a place where everyone and anyone feels welcome when they walk through the doors. Most of the bartenders are from Ireland and have their brogue to prove it. The drinks are reasonably priced. However, do keep in mind that it is a cash only bar.”

Pat M. of Oak Lawn says, “We are happy to have another Irish restaurant in Oak Lawn. Nice menu and friendly fast service. Our sandwiches were good, especially the pot roast. The place was decorated with the usual posters of Irish drinks, such as Guiness, but otherwise pretty plain. Will go back again to try the pizza.”

The Chieftain Irish Pub, 6906-08 W 111th St., Worth | 4 stars

Doug C. of Oak Lawn says, “Excellent pints. This isn’t a faux Irish designed bar, this is an Irishman’s bar. I’m usually the only Irish American in the place. I haven’t had the food yet but I will keep coming back for the very laid back atmosphere. Great neighborhood tavern.”

Dalton’s Irish Pub, 5616 W 87th St., Burbank | 4 stars

Debbie K of Oak Lawn says, “Great bar, great bartenders, great selection of drinks to choose from! Heated beer garden with a big screen tv and now video gaming!!! It’s a great place to make friends and easily can become that ’go to’ place with a ’Cheers’ atmosphere.”

Tilted Kilt Pub & Eatery, 6401 95th St., Chicago Ridge |3.5 stars

Stina N. of Oak Lawn says, “Let’s get something straight here so we’ve got no preconceived notions or false perceptions going into this. The waitress at TK are hired for their bodies not their brains ... Kilt is a chain restaurant for sure, but they have some of the best chain restaurant/ sports bar food out there.”

Fox’s Restaurant And Pub, 9240 S Cicero Ave., Oak Lawn| 3 stars

Darlene S. of Oak Lawn says, “Sarah, our waitress, was awesome! Food was great and service was excellent. Even brought us a bowl of cherries for the kids ‘cocktails’! Great family dinner.”

Jack Desmonds Irish Pub, 10339 S Ridgeland, Chicago Ridge | 3 stars

Jay B. of Oak Lawn says, “Desmonds is your typical Irish Pub. The only difference is that it hasn’t been taken over by the South Side’s death grip yet. The Irish pubs there tend to turn into the trendy place to go and lose their true identity. The owner Timmy is there every weekend and most weekdays. The food is great (try the Shepard’s Pie), and prepared by local “Chef Barb.” Barb was also head chef at Ken’s Guest House down the road and when she left for Desmond’s, Ken’s closed and no one has been able to keep a restaurant going since. Try and go on a night when Brendan Loughrey is playing, you won’t regret it.”
