Mom Threatened At Gunpoint While Getting Daughter Out Of Carseat

Carjackers held a gun to a woman's head as she tried to remove her daughter from a carseat.

OAK PARK, IL — A pair of carjackers threatened an Oak Park mom at gunpoint as she tried to get her infant daughter out of a carseat Tuesday. The incident in the 700 block of N. Lombard at approximately 6:22 p.m.

The victim told police she was parked and trying to get her daughter out of the carseat when the first suspect approached her from behind. When she turned around, the victim produced a "slim handgun" and held it to the side of her head as he demanded the keys, police say.

According to police, a second suspect came up and the victim. She then said, "Let me get my daughter out of the vehicle." The first offender then told the second offender, "Forget it. It's not worth it." They then fled southbound on Lombard.

The first suspect was described as a black male between 16 and 19 years of age, standing approximately 5'10" to 6' tall and weighing between 140 and 150 pounds. The victim told police he had a thin build and short black hair. He last seen wearing a dark sweatshirt and baggy jeans with red boxers exposed.

The second offender was described as a black male between the ages of 16 and 19, standing approximately 5'7" tall with a medium build. He was last seen wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt with the hood up and a green mask, along with a dark pair of jeans.
