3 Suspects Ambush, Hit, Rob Man As He Walks In Oak Park: Police

Police are urging residents to use caution when walking alone after dark.

OAK PARK, IL — Police are issuing a warning to residents of Oak Park: if you're walking alone after dark, use caution. The announcement comes after a man was surrounded by three males, struck on the back, and robbed as he walked down the street Wednesday.

The man was walking near his home in the 700 block of Wisconsin Ave. when three men came up to him, police say. One of the men asked for a lighter and another asked for money.

Police say the third man came up and the victim was hit with a hard object and pushed down to the ground. The suspects proceeded to steal his cellphone before getting into a white car and fleeing south on Wisconsin Ave.

The suspects were described as two white males and an Asian male.
