3 Vehicles Surround Victim In Armed Oak Park Carjacking

OAK PARK, IL — Suspects used three vehicles to swarm a victim and prevent him from fleeing during a carjacking in Oak Park Thursday. Police responded to the incident shortly after three a.m. in the 1100 block of South Cuyler.

The man was reportedly sitting in his idling white Honda Accord when two dark-colored sedans (one possibly a Nissan) and a silver or white Honda sedan surrounded his car. A man in one of the dark-colored sedans pointed a gun at the victim and demanded his vehicle, the victim told police. At the same time, two other suspects approached the driver's side of the car to threaten the man to get out. When the driver complied, the first suspect got into the victim's car and fled westbound on Roosevelt, followed by the two other vehicles.

The victim described the first suspect as a black male in a dark hooded sweatshirt, but no further description was available. The next suspect is described as a black male with crooked front teeth wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans. Police say the third suspect is described as a black male in a dark hooded sweatshirt with a bandaged arm.

According to police, the man's wallet and cellphone were also in his white Honda Accord. The total estimated loss is $16,000.
