Mafia Princess is the speaker at "Wednesdays are for Writers"
Sam Giancana's daughter, Antoinette tells what life in the Mafia was really like, for her father and his family.
Antoinette Giancana, daughter of the late Mafia boss, Sam Giancana, authoress and actress, will be the guest speaker at "Wednesdays Are for Writers," hosted by the Eastgate Café, 102 Harrison Street, Oak Park on September 25 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. Ms. Giancana will talk about several books she has written on her father, her family and the part they played in the history of American culture.
"Wednesdays Are for Writers," is a monthly series of presentations that support the literary and performing arts community in the Oak Park. These events give authors an opportunity to meet each other, share their work, get advice from their peers and feedback from their readers while ordering from the gourmet menu and full bar of the Eastgate Café.
Ms. Giancana’s first book, "Mafia Princess: Growing Up in Sam Giancana’s Family" is a one-of-a-kind literary memoir of an extraordinarily brave woman trying to make a life in a family that was at once supportive and incredibly destructive. The result was a lifelong search for an unreachable objective – the love of a father incapable of such an emotion. Her second work, “JFK and Sam: The Connection Between the Giancana and Kennedy Assassinations,” covers the relationship between these two fascinating and powerful men and their tragic ends

Antoinette currently resides in River Forest and has moved on with her life. After the publication of her first book, she went on tour, revealing the inside story to her family to a fascinated public around the country. Her story was later produced as a TV- film starring Susan Lucci. Antoinette went on to write several other books about the Mafia and its role in American life.
