Berwyn Men Arrested In $19K Shoplifting Spree In Wisconsin: Cops

Two Berwyn men were charged in an Oct. 28 shoplifting spree at a mall in Pleasant Prairie, Wis. More than $19,000 in items were stolen.

BERWYN, IL — Two Berwyn men were arrested in connection with a day-long shoplifting spree that yielded $19,000 in stolen items from more than a dozen stores in Wisconsin. Yaid Rodriguez, 21, of Berwyn, and Rogelio Pina, 29, of the 4000 block of S. Elmwood in Berwyn, were taken into custody in Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin on Oct. 28 after law enforcement had been alerted by security at the Pleasant Prairie Premium Outlets.

According to a release from Pleasant Prairie Police, officers arrived on the scene after multiple shoplifting reports and conducted an investigation with the help of surveillance cameras and mall security. This information led police to the suspects' car.

Inside, police say they found $19,000 of stolen merchandise from 16 different stores, along with special bags designed to prevent alarm systems from going off.

Also charged in connection with the incident were Ricardo Rosado, 39, of Kenosha, Paola Peralta, 34, of Elmhurst, NY, and Zaiday Rendon, 36, of East Elmhurst, NY.
