Arson Tipster Award Program with a Cash Incentive

The River Forest Park District will be adopting the new "Arson Tipster Award Program" effective immediately.

Public playgrounds have become the target of arsonists and when a loss occurs, an entire playground worth tens of thousands of dollars can be lost to the children of the community within a matter of minutes.  Other park amenities such as shelters have also been damaged or destroyed.  As much as staff and local law enforcement officers try to prevent these incidents, it is sometimes local residents and park users that are the best source of information about who may be involved in these acts.

The River Forest Park District will be adopting the new “Arson Tipster Award Program” effective immediately. The program will be  promoted through the user of posters, flyers and press releases.  This information will encourage the public to
call the designated Arson Tipster Program hotline at 708-366-6660x200 with
information related to an act of arson on River Forest Park District property.  Should that information lead to the arrest of a perpetrator or a conspirator, that person will then be nominated for a cash reward of up to $500. The Park District Risk Management Agency will administer the award program.

For more information, contact Michael Sletten at 708-366-6660x101 or at msletten@rfparks.com
