Bake, then Taste and Discuss at ‘Food for Thought’ on December 2

Bake a recipe from The Gourmet Cookie Book, then bring cookies to share at the Food for Thought discussion and tasting on Sunday, December 2 at Oak Park Public Library.

With the holidays around the corner, now’s the perfect time to find a great new cookie recipe. Join us for a discussion and tasting of recipes from The Gourmet Cookie Book: The Single Best Recipe from Each Year 1941-2009.

Make a cookie recipe from the book and bring the results to share on Sunday, December 2 at 2:00 pm at Oak Park Public Library, 834 Lake Street. Bakers of all ages are welcome. Copies of The Gourmet Cookie Book are available at the library.

Our “Food for Thought” cookbook discussion group can help you select the perfect recipe, without having to try your hand at each of them. Over coffee and cookies like brandy snaps, sugar shuttles, and pecan tassies, share your impressions of The Gourmet Cookie Book and your experiences following a recipe. Learn where fellow bakers source some hard to find ingredients and how they worked through difficult steps in the recipe they chose.
