Concordia University Chicago’s premiere music ensembles will perform individual concerts throughout the month of March.
The Wind Symphony’s Home Tour Concert on Friday, March 15, at 8 p.m., will follow the program’s recent 3,000-mile journey from Illinois to Indiana, Ohio, Kentucky and Alabama. The group will perform works by Holst, Gillingham, Moussorgsky, Holsinger and Kabalevsky.
CUC’s premier choral ensemble, Kapelle, will perform its annual Home Concert Saturday, March 16, at 7:30 p.m. Kapelle will be capping off its 10-day Pacific Northwest tour, “Credo: I Believe,” which features the music of Martin Luther, Johann Sebastian Bach and Rihards Dubra among others.

On Friday, March 22, at 8 p.m., the University Band concert will feature solo trombonist Thomas Stark, a member of Concordia’s performance faculty. The concert will include selections by Shostakovich, Jenkins, Lo Presti, Pryor, Bizet and more.
All concerts will take place in the Chapel of Our Lord and are free of charge. The Concordia-Chicago campus is located at 7400 Augusta Street, River Forest, IL. Free handicapped-accessible parking is available in the visitors’ lot north of the University parking structure off Bonnie Brae Street.
