"Drunk & Naked" Is not a Hit for Randy Travis
The law in Illinois has grown increasing tough on drunk drivers. So if you have had one too many, take a cab!
At least once a week, sometimes two or three times a week, a celebrity is arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol. Cat Cora, Lindsay Lohan and Amanda Bynes gave me enough material for a summertime of blogs. However, no DUI/DWI incident has proved more sensational than country singing legend Randy Travis! According to TMZ, Mr. Travis was found lying drunk and naked beside his wrecked car. It seems he does not have a friend or manager to tell him to take a cab.
In Illinois last July, a new law went into effect for those found to be driving under the influence or “DUI”. If a person is found guilty of a reckless homicide or causes an injury while DUI, his/her license will be revoked for one year with no opportunity to secure the right to drive for the entire year. A summary suspension revocation is a separate a violation from the Illinois Vehicle Code. This means that while you might "beat" the DUI ticket, you will still have no driving privileges for a year.
So take a hint from Mr. Travis and take a cab.
