Free Folk Concerts: My Sweet Patootie 4/30 and Claudia Schmidt 5/10

The Friends Library's folk music series continues with free concerts by My Sweet Patootie on Monday, April 30 and by Claudia Schmidt on Thursday, May 10.

Enjoy “a tongue-in-cheek Canadian blend of old country, vintage jazz, western swing, and blues.” My Sweet Patootie performs on Monday, April 30 at 7 pm at Oak Park Public Library, 834 Lake Street. The dazzling fiddle and guitar solos and joy of live performances by Sandra Swannell and  Terry Young have delighted audiences in Canada, England, and the USA since 1999. Doors open at 6:30 pm. First-come, first-seated. Meet My Sweet Patootie and purchase CDs following the concert.

Claudia Schmidt is a powerful vocalist and adventurous artist who combines lively folk, jazz, and blues with rich poetry and playful humor. Hear Claudia Schmidt perform from her newest CD, Bend in the River: Collected Songs and other albums on Thursday, May 10 at 7 pm at Oak Park Public Library, 834 Lake Street.  Doors open at 6:30 pm. First-come, first-seated. Claudia Schmidt will sell and sign her CDs following the concert.

Both free concerts are part of the folk music series sponsored by the Friends of the Oak Park Public Library.
