Kelly is Looking for a Kind and Patient Person to Take Her Home

I am a beautiful pit bull mix that needs to find my forever home. I came here with a memory of heavy handed treatment by someone, so I can be frightened by strangers at first, especially men. But since arriving at the shelter, I've learned to trust a lot of the male volunteers here and welcome belly rubs from just about anyone. If you give me patience and gentle guidance while I get to know you, my trust will be true, and I will be your best friend. I like most other dogs I meet, but I do prefer male dogs. One of the volunteers has been taking me to obedience classes, and I'm so proud to say I'm doing really well! I know "sit" and "down." Did you know I love car rides too! I will be so lucky to find an experienced person to accept all I have to give. Because of my wariness of strangers, I need an adult-only home.
