Movieoke July 21 at Oak Park Public Library

Recreate favorite movie scenes at Movieoke on Saturday, July 21 at Oak Park Public Library. This free afterhours event is hosted by genre X for adults aged 21+.

Recreate your favorite movie scenes – karaoke style – when genre X presents Movieoke on Saturday, July 21 at 7:30 pm at Oak Park Public Library, 834 Lake Street. You’ll be center stage, mic in hand, with the original film scene playing behind you. And just in case you don’t have every word to When Harry Met Sally memorized, you can follow along on a monitor.

Choose from over 200 scenes – scenes that will make you laugh, scenes that will make you cry, and scenes that are just plain classic – from Casablanca to Caddyshack. Whether you feel the need for speed, are the king of the world, or really, really hate wire hangers, you’ll have the chance to be a star. If you’re not sure if you’re ready for the spotlight, join us as an audience member to hoot, holler, or heckle.

This is a free afterhours event. Cash bar for age 21+. Movieokie is sponsored by genre X, a twenties and thirties book discussion group facilitated by Oak Park Public Library. genre X meets every fourth Tuesday of the month at 8 pm at “The Snug”, a small room inside Molly Malone’s, 7652 Madison Street in Forest Park.
