Pie Off Challenges Locals to a Baking Competition: Judging and Tasting on October 6

Building on last year's success, Pie Off returns to Oak Park Public Library. After the judging, the public is invited to taste the entries.

Pie Off returns this autumn as a second annual baking competition--because everybody loves pie! Locals are invited to present their best pie to a panel of expert judges on Saturday, October 6 at Oak Park Public Library, 834 Lake Street. Bakers should arrive at 1 pm. No preregistration is required. Judges will score pies based on taste and appearance. Prizes will be awarded to the top entries. The public is invited to taste the entries starting at 2:30 pm. This all-ages event is free and open to the public.

“Whether you know how to roll pastry dough or not, this will be a great event,” states program coordinator Jennifer Czajka. “Last year we had a baker’s dozen entries and many, many tasters. Will last year’s winners be crowned again? Or will a new batch of bakers rise to the top? Come experience the fun of Pie Off.”
