Please Note the Following Important Changes to Your Policy!

Do you ever read those little updates and amendments to your policy? What you do not know could hurt you!

We get them all the time:  “Important Changes to Your Policy.”  Typically, the notice is white sheet of paper covered in small print; an addendum to your credit card agreement or insurance policy.   Of course, who has the time or desire to read those things?  Usually, I cannot wait to throw them in the recycling.  But as service to my Blog readers, I actually read the Important Changes to my various State Farm policies and discovered the following information, both awesome and awful.

The awesome news is that civil unions are now treated as a marriage.  The exact language states:

“To comply with Illinois law, we have added language stating that the words “spouse”, “marriage”, and “marital” refer to both a marriage and a civil union recognized as valid under Illinois law.”

The awful news is there is no longer any coverage for motorcycles driven in Mexico as of November 1, 2012.  Ouch!
