Seguin Services To Host "Dare to Dream" Gala

Seguin Services honors Cook County community leaders at its May 4 Dare to Dream Gala at Esplanade Lakes by Doubletree.

Seguin Services is excited to announce its Dare to Dream Gala – Wish Upon A Star, to occur Saturday, May 4 at 6:00 o’clock at The Esplanade Lakes by Doubletree in Downers Grove. CBS 2 Chicago News Anchor Rob Johnson will serve as the Master of Ceremonies for the evening. Rob has been a steadfast friend of Seguin Services and advocate for people with developmental disabilities. 

The annual celebration highlights the inspirational achievements by Seguin participants as well as the generous contributions of community volunteers and donors. This year Seguin will bestow its President’s Award to Cook County for outstanding support to Seguin programs and people served. Toni Preckwinkle, Cook County Board President, Jeffrey Tobolski, Cook County Commissioner, and Herman Brewer, Bureau Chief – Cook County Bureau of Economic Development are all expected to attend and accept this prestigious award. Tom Mikrut will be honored with the Marjorie A. Feeney Volunteer of the Year Award for his many years of extraordinary service to individuals with disabilities. Dony’a Scott from Seguin’s Adult Services programs and Daisy R. from the Children’s Program will receive Shining Star Awards, in recognition of their exceptional personal accomplishments. 

The Esplanade Lakes provides an idyllic setting for this Seguin benefit event. The Dare To Dream Gala features a sumptuous dinner, lively music and dancing provided by The Night Shift Orchestra, an exciting silent auction and basket raffles, and a heartwarming program—all in support of people with developmental disabilities. Seguin will further feature its forthcoming merger with United Cerebral Palsy of Greater Chicago.

This evening is the centerpiece fundraising event of the year for Seguin Services. The public is welcome to join Seguin in support of individuals with disabilities throughout the Chicagoland area.
