Take Advantage Of Olympic Fever To Super Charge Your Workouts

Harness the energy of the Olympics to super charge your workout.

I don’t know about you, but I have been glued to the TV watching the Olympic games. The athleticism, strength, discipline and talent of these athletes blows my mind. These people are machines. They train hard everyday and make sacrifices to stay in optimal shape.

Watching the games and listening to the stories of so many athletes has recharged my workout mojo. Like everyone, I go through highs and lows when it comes to working out. Yes, I realize it’s my job, but I’m human and sometimes I lack motivation. But when I listen to these athletes stories and the hours of training they put in, I can’t help but have this desire to supercharge my workout. If Michael Phelps can win 20 Olympic medals, I can surely push myself and add a couple extra drills to my workout.

These athletes may seem super human, but they are everyday people who know that dedication and hard work pay off.  We have our own local Olympic Star in London, Ellis Coleman, I would imagine he has inspired many local people to work a little harder toward their dreams.

So, if you’re like me, and have that Olympic Fever, take advantage of it! When you don’t feel like hitting the gym after work, or you think you just can’t finish those last 10 minutes of cardio, think OLYMPICS. Think of the athletes and the 12-hour-days they put into their workouts. It’s all about your mind-set. Be your own Olympian! Set your own goal and strive toward accomplishing it. When you feel like giving up, think of the South African blade runner, Michael Phelps, or the Women’s Gymnastics team. Strive for your own personal gold medal.
