Zombie Insurance?
Insurance is all about risk. The lower the risk to the insurance company, the more likely there is to be coverage. Read on to see how this works against you, the insured. Yes, it is bizarre.
Ever wonder if you were the last sane person left on the planet? Following is a short quiz to test your theory. 1) True or false: You can get insurance in case of a Zombie Apocalypse, divorce, the birth of twins or identity theft. 2) True or False: You can get insurance for collapse of a building with an unknown cause, act of nature/god or employee dishonesty.
If you guessed that the answer to number one is “True” and the answer to number two is “False”, you are correct! As to whether or not you are the last sane person, the jury is still out.
This past week Patch and the Chicago Tribune reported that a Rush Oak Park Hospital employee allegedly stole $288,000.00 in a six-year period through the use of credit cards and reimbursement schemes. As you may have guessed from my quiz, it can be difficult to secure insurance for employee dishonesty. However, there may be an exception available if that employee is a known Zombie.
