Burglar Steals $9,000 Worth of Jewelry From Home: Oak Park Police Blotter

A burglar reportedly stole $9,000 worth of jewelry from a home in Oak Brook, including a pearl ring and wedding and engagement rings.

OAK PARK, IL — The following information is from the Oak Park Police Department.

According to Oak Park police, an unidentified person(s) entered a home at the 1100 block of South Euclid Avenue sometime between Friday, May 26, and Monday, May 29. Once inside the home, the suspect(s) removed an emerald and diamond ring, an amethyst ring with a silver setting, a silver Tiffany bracelet, a gold necklace with a diamond pendant, a pearl ring and wedding and engagement rings. The total value of the items was estimated to be $9,000.

Sometime between Sunday, June 4 and Friday, June 5, a green 2002 Subaru Forester was removed from an alley near the 200 block of South Ridgeland. The victim’s loss is valued at $5,000.

Oak Park Police reported that on Sunday, June 4 around 10 p.m., an altercation took place at a business in the first block of North Harlem. An unidentified man allegedly raised what appeared to be a handgun to threaten the victim before heading on Maple Street from Madison in a grey Dodge charger. The offender is described as a black male aged 30 to 40 years old.

Armed Robbery Arrest

Police arrested three juveniles from Chicago who were later charged with armed robbery in the 700 block of South Maple Street. They were taken to the police station and then transferred to the juvenile detention center.
