OP Kidical Mass Halloween Ride

Fall is officially in the air, and it has us thinking about our Halloween ride. It’s always our last ride of the year; it’s usually our biggest ride of the year; and it’s definitely one of the most fun rides of the year.

Like we’ve done the past few years, we’ll be headed west to roll through River Forest.

Grab a bike-friendly costume if that’s your jam, grab a friend, bring some neighbors, or come on out by yourself.

Our merry band of bikers gathers in Scoville Park at the corner of Oak Park Ave and Lake Street around 8:45am for a 9am(ish) departure. We’ll have a few brief announcements, followed by a fun and festive 4 mile loop, starting and ending at Scoville Park.

We ride slowly for little peddlers and parents on cargo bikes. Everyone should wear a helmet, have a parent or guardian with them, and be able to ride without training wheels in a straight line. Cargo bikes, tandems, trailers, and tag-alongs are great for kids who haven’t learned to pedal.

We can’t wait to see y’all there.

QUICK DISCLAIMER: These rides are intended to be informal gatherings of family cyclists. While the spirit of the ride is that we’ll all be looking out for each other, each adult is ultimately responsible for any young people they bring with them and for deciding what’s safe and appropriate for their group.
