Carjacker Pulls Driver From Behind Wheel, Says 'Do You Want To Die Or Give Up Your Car?:' Cops

OAK PARK, IL — Police are looking for the suspect of a carjacking that happened in Oak Park just before midnight Saturday. The suspect allegedly displayed a weapon and asked the victim, "Do you want to die or give up your car?" before stealing the victim's 2006 Cadillac STS.

Police say the victim was in the 900 block of West Humphrey when a man approached their car and opened the driver's side door. The offender flashed a semi-automatic handgun, threatened the driver and then pulled the driver out from behind the wheel. The suspect drove off in the victim's Cadillac. The total loss is estimated at $5,000.

The victim described the suspect as a black male, about 5'10" with a thin build and short black hair. At the time of the crime, the offender was wearing a a black sweater and black pants, police say.
