Carjackers Flash Revolver, Make Off With Mercedes In Oak Park: Police

Police say one suspect flashed a revolver before another suspect got in the Mercedes and all three fled down an alley.

OAK PARK, IL — A Mercedes was stolen Saturday after a suspect flashed a gun at the driver when he got out of his car. The incident took place in the 100 block of Chicago Ave. at approximately 7:49 p.m.

Police say the driver got out of his vehicle to confront three men who were standing outside of his car in the rear of a building. When he got out, one of the suspects lifted his shirt to show a black revolver he had tucked in his waistband. The victim then backed away and another suspect got in the Mercedes and drove to the front of the building to pick up the other two suspects before fleeing northbound down the Austin Ave. alley.

The car was later recovered in Chicago in the 100 block of Menard because the victim's iPhone had been left inside and was used to successfully track the vehicle.

The suspects are described as three black males in their 20s. According to the victim's description, the suspects were last seen wearing dark clothing and hooded sweatshirts.
