Dad to Son: Go Back to College Or 'I'm Going to Put a Hole Through Your Head'

Angry dad used a Ruger SR40 as a motivational tool, police said, but landed in jail instead.

A dad whose son refused to return to college took matters into his own hands and decided to offer his son a little motivation — by putting a gun to his head, according to police

“If you don’t go back to school I’m going to put a hole through your head,” Viktor Barkov said, according to a police report, as he pointed his Ruger SR40 handgun at the 22-year-old’s head.

His “use your brains or lose them” motivational exercise didn’t sit well with others in his family, and police were called.

Barkov, 55, of Elmwood Park, was arrested shortly after midnight on Saturday after arguing with his wife and son about college, Sun-Times Media reports. He did not put up a struggle with police.

Charged with aggravated assault and use of a deadly weapon, a judge on Sunday set bail at $25,000 bond.
