About Oak Park Arms
The Oak Park Arms is a rental retirement community which provides senior housing in the form of independent living and assisted living apartments. Additional services include short-term stays, a transitional care program, and an adult day care program.
The Oak Park Arms opened as a luxurious hotel in 1922 and for decades, it was the scene of wedding receptions, proms and ballroom dances. In the mid-1970s, two friends bought the hotel and created an active retirement community that was – and remains - full of life, service and spirit. Today, the same two friends remain involved and committed to excellence, ensuring that The Arms continues as an industry leader with a legacy of eminence and distinction.
The Oak Park Arms affords its residents as full a life as they wish. A resident can create a day as exciting – or as relaxing – as he or she wishes. The word “choices” applies to just about everything, and at the Arms, there is an abundance of appealing options.
Take dining options… The Georgian Room Restaurant features a full service menu designed by a nutritionist and our own residents. Meals are served with full table service, and residents may dine when they wish and sit at the table of their choice. Daily specials complement an extensive menu with more than 40 choices for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Events and activities abound. From listening to a jazz concert to taking a tap dance class, from a current events lecture to an art exhibit, there are things to do. If you don’t want to partake in the plethora of events, that’s fine, too. A day reading the paper and napping can be as pleasurable as seeing a radio reenactment performed, sound effects and all.
