On Tuesday, April 10, the Nineteenth Century Charitable Association continues a tradition of evening programs with "A Journey of 25 Years." Local authors Lee Brooke and Marcy Kubat give a retrospective of the 25 books they have written, either individually or together over the past 25 years. Lee Brooke, who calls himself a "chronicler," has been researching, recording, and writing histories about Oak Park and River Forest places and people since 1960. Marcy Kubat has published two books of travel essays and co-authored/published, with Lee Brooke, over a dozen books. Their latest book, Behind the Badge, Profiles of Police Chiefs and Officers of the Oak Park Police Department, was published in 2011. The program ($10.00 suggested donation) starts at 7:00 pm. Light refreshments will be served.
