Belles Lettres Society Presents: Cahokia

Local author Ellen Steinberg recounts the history of the great city called Cahokia. Cahokia was the vast first city in Illinois that existed 1150 - 400 Years B.C.* (*Before Chicago!) Learn about Mississippian culture, moundbuilding, and the history of discovery and destruction in North America before the time of Columbus.

This program is an open meeting of the Belles Lettres Society. The Belles Lettres are a long-standing local organization that bring together people to present original papers on entertaining and informative topics, from literature to history to travel to science. Meeting starts at 7 p.m., lecture starts at 7:15 p.m., Refreshments will be served at 8 p.m. All are welcome!
