Canadian Brass, the “world’s leading brass ensemble,” will celebrate the sounds of the season at Dominican University’s annual Holiday Concert on Saturday, December 3 at 7:30 p.m. in the Lund Auditorium on Dominican’s Main Campus, 7900 Division Street, River Forest.
Known for its irreverent and family-friendly brand of classical brass, the quintet has an international reputation as one of the world’s most talented and popular brass ensembles. Membership in the group has changed many times since its founding in 1970, but its appearance – formal black suits with white athletic shoes – has remained consistent over the years.
All Canadian Brass concerts feature the band’s uniquely engaging stage presence and rapport with audiences. The annual Holiday Concert at Dominican rings in the holidays with performances of seasonal favorites and fun. Whatever the style, Canadian Brass’ music is central and performed with utmost dedication, skill and excellence. The hallmark of any Canadian Brass performance is entertainment, spontaneity, virtuosity and, most of all, fun.
