Are you hungry for a better world? While nearly 1 billion people suffer today from starvation, many of us hunger for a world in which all have enough. Naturally, we also hunger for the meaning of it all. We invite you to collaborate in a unique way to fight hunger in our own community.
Interfaith Impact, a grassroots Oak Park/River Forest community interfaith effort, sparked by One Chicago, One Nation Community Ambassador Susan Lucci, will host a Hunger Banquet at Dominican University the evening of October 7, 2011. Based on the Oxfam model, a Hunger Banquet is an orchestrated dinner designed to demonstrate the global disparity in food security and to raise awareness about world hunger. Speakers will motivate participants to engage in local efforts to relieve hunger, followed by a reflection/interfaith dialogue.
