Mandala is a sanskirt word for circle or essence. Throughout the world, Mandala art has been used for self-expression, transformation and personal growth. It is believed to lead one to enlightenment. Creating the mandala has a calming and relaxing affect on the body, mind and spirit. This practice is a discipline for pulling the scattered aspects of your life together, finding a center, releasing the inner light of the self. This workshop is an introduction to a process of creating a mandala. We’ll explore the many ways of creating the mandala using patterns, shapes and colors on black paper. The process of intention and witness will also be taught as a way to deepen the experience. Journal writing is a part of the process. No previous art experience is needed. The mandala will begin to create itself.
