More than 50 years after it first debuted, the 1947 timeless classic “Miracle on 34th Street” returns to the big screen. Community Bank of Oak Park River Forest will present the movie at no charge to the Oak Park community at the Lake Theatre, located at 1022 Lake Street, on Saturday, December 10, 2011 at 10:00 AM. Complimentary tickets are available beginning Monday, November 21st at Community Bank of Oak Park River Forest, 1001 Lake Street, Oak Park.

The original film showcases a young Natalie Wood as Susan who believes that Kris Kringle may actually be the Santa Claus who shares his spirit at the renowned Macy’s department store in New York City. Her mother, played by the beautiful Maureen O’Hara, has her misgivings about Kris and thinks this seasonal job is an unhealthy way to fulfill his life’s fantasy. Some people, especially Susan, begin to notice that there really is something special about Kris and believe he has the ability to bring the true spirit of Christmas to believers, both young and old.
